Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they reported in a statement.

Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Police state early analysis show the substance was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the public for details.

A senior political figure commented the incident left him stunned and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
